EXPERIMENT 2 : FINAL SUBMISSION

Concept of Kengo Kuma

-Architecture as a frame of nature
-Light and transparency
-Poetic flow

-

Concept of Kisho Kurokawa

-Raw and Honest materiality
-Space and movement

Electroliquid Aggregation Concept

Natural elements like water and light are able to combined with the architecture in a harmony way. It's aims to  create a circulation between nature and architecture.

Five Images Captured from Lumion

As part of the meeting place for visitor, a flowing area was constructed between 2 monuments with planted grasses to the extent that it is almost hidden on the ground so that it would not break the balance with its surrounding.

Curve form of the monument for Kisho Kunokawa well fit its natural environment.

Monument for Kengo Kuma. Varies of thickness of column and tiny broken frame create a sense of flexibility of the building. Sunset on the river as a focal point scene can be seen through the monument which demonstrates the communication between building and nature.

A large water tank links with two waterfall on the ground level forms the other part of the meeting places. It connects two monument with natural element that demonstrate the idea of circulation between architecture and nature. Moreover, upper level and ground level also have a visual connection through a set of circular gaps.

Using concrete as the only material for Kisho Kunokawa's monument to respond his concept of "raw and honest materiality". Created material with similar pattern and textures was applied on the stair that allows visitors to get to the first level, echoing the upward trend of monument as well as its features.

EXPERIMENT 2 : COMBINATION OF TWO MONUMEN

SCHEME ONE

 SKETCHES

SKETCHUP MODEL

IN LUMION

*The first experiment with Lumion.
I just simply placed it on the ground.

 * This time, I start to consider the relationship between the monument and its surrounding. In respond, i create a waterfall so that the water can come through the building in order to create a sense of movement. In the meanwhile, water as a media, communicate two seperated monument with a tank (or a water path) in between which could be a meeting place for architectural students. This idea was further developed in my final version of monument.

SCHEME TWO

SKETCHES

SKETCHUP MODEL

IN LUMION

I decide to construct my monument on a little island above the river.

*Experiment of PLANTS AND SURROUNDING.
Bamboo and stone pathway are very Japanese.

*Experiment of applying materials on the building. Concrete and timber could be the major thing due to they are iconic and representative for Kisho Kurokawa and Kengo Kuma. These two materials are widely used on the works of them.

SCHEME THREE (FINAL VERSION)

* A combination and development of the previous schemes.

I would like to use the monument (as shown below) for Kisho Kunokawa.

However, it doesn't looks good when i transform it to curve form.
So i decide to reconstruct it.

EXPERIMENT 2 : CONCEPTS OF ARCHITECTS AND 12 SKETCHED MONUMENT

MONUMENTS FOR KENGO KUMA:

Architecture as a Frame for Nature

*As 45 degree axonometric drawing could not show the full detail of this model, i did another parallel projection drawing for understanding.
